Visiting?

Blind dates can be intimidating.

Visiting a new church for the first time can be intimidating, too.

If you're thinking of coming to check out worship at SOTH, we think it's only fair that you might want to know something about what you'll find when you get here.  We want everything about your first visit to SOTH to be as clear and "user friendly" as it can be.  That's just good hospitality, and the least we can do for the folks who come to visit us.

So, in that spirit, here are some FAQ's and basic info that should make your Sunday morning just a little bit easier.

What's the Sunday morning schedule?
SOTH has identical worship experiences at 9:00 and 11:00, every Sunday morning.  Christian education classes for children of all ages, youth and adults happens at 10:15, just after our first worship service, and it ends at about 10:55, just before our second one.

Should I dress up?
SOTH is a casual dress congregation.  We know that it's the weekend, and getting dressed up is usually the last thing that people get excited about on Sunday morning.  Don't worry about what you should wear...we promise you'll be fine.

How big is SOTH?
SOTH is growing, and getting bigger all the time.  Right now (spring 2007), SOTH is a church of about 200 worshippers.  We're out of space in our building (a great problem), so it's a "full house" at both worship services.  Plans are underway for SOTH to re-locate onto a larger property nearby in the community, and we'll be building a brand new, much larger facility.

What about my kids?
SOTH is a seriously kid-friendly church.  Childcare is provided during worship for children 6 and under.  Chrisitan education for kids of all ages happens between worship services at 10:15.  Singing, crafts and Bible lessons keep our young children engaged and learning.  Middle and high school students are involved in an interactive, high quality lesson each week, and every worship services includes a "Children's Moment" of teaching just for them.  Best of all, we promise nobody's going to roll their eyes at you or show you the door if your kid makes a little noise at the "wrong time."  We got kids, we like kids, and we're always glad your kids are at SOTH.

What kind of music will I hear?
SOTH is a contemporary worshiping church.   We believe in taking a fresh approach to our time-tested faith.  We honor the old, but embrace the new.  You'll hear popular contemporary praise music, and you'll be invited to sing along with the congregation as an act of worship.  We love music at SOTH, and we're thankful to have a wonderful bunch of musicians and singers who lead this mininstry.

Wow, does everybody here drink coffee?

No, it just seems that way.  There's always coffee and light refreshments every Sunday morning, so help yourself.  We find that the ol' coffee pot is just a great place to strike up conversation and enjoy a few moments before or after worship.

And, we've got visitor parking spaces right by the door, and we really hope you'll park there.  Somebody will be waiting to welcome you to worship at SOTH.

And....How do I get there?
